ISO 17100 Certification - Translation Quality

ISO 17100:2015 (Translation services — Requirements for translation services) is a global standard for the translation industry. It identifies the requirements to establish a quality management system (QMS) for translation service providers (TSP).

The ISO 17100 standard uses a structure of 6 clauses, which roughly grouped together, cover 4 key areas:

• Resources – Defines the responsibilities and competency requirements for translators, revisers and project managers.
• Pre-Production – Specifies the requirements for quoting and entering into an agreement.
• Production – Ensures the appropriate workflow is defined and managed, and customer needs are met.
• Post-Production – Requires that the TSP validates customer requirements have been met and takes action to correct deficiencies if applicable.
